Katie Swartchild Penna
Katie Swartchild Penna has been completing her clinical internship at Lift Wellness, as well as one in a university mental health center. She will receive her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University in January, 2026, having already earned a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from City College, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. The choice to begin anew on this career path truly came from a place of passion and conviction.
Katie brings to this profession a strong desire to help others feel seen and heard, heal, and grow. She has been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a type of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), which aims to foster psychological flexibility through techniques that center on mindfulness, acceptance, self-compassion, and values identification. Katie brings an integrative, person-centered, and strength-based approach to her clients and wants to help each person reconnect with that part of themselves that wants to move forward with their life.
Katie works with all ages and helps people through difficult times stemming from disordered eating, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal relationships. Katie has raised two children and lives with her husband and 2 dogs in Riverside.
