Sarah Vidal, LMSC

As a licensed master social worker, Sarah is a human first and a therapist second! This means she is intimately aware of how hard it can be to take the first step toward healing and confronting your inner traumas. She’s here, ready to meet you wherever you may be in this process.

Sarah received both her B.A. in Communications and her Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, after which she worked as a clinician in various treatment settings and levels of care. Sarah comes prepared with both clinical expertise and lived experience to help you heal from disordered eating, body image issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, knowing that poor body image/body dysmorphia is particularly prevalent amongst trans and gender non-conforming folks. Sarah believes that therapy is not just about resolving your difficulties, but about moving toward becoming a more whole person. During sessions, you will work collaboratively to determine what this looks like for you, specifically!

While Sarah possess strong experience and training in various therapeutic modalities,  she does not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach. As she learns more about you and your goals, she will tailor her work to meet your unique needs, whether this means utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. At the core of her work, however, she utilizes a psychodynamic approach to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and your behavioral patterns. She will also assist you in being able to communicate your needs to the important people in your life so that they too can support you as effectively as possible. Sarah’s goal is for you to feel supported, empowered, and seen throughout your work together.
